LOUD WHISPERS

Lars de Vos, één van de oorspronkelijke dansers van Zero, is een allround danser en choreograaf, afgestudeerd aan Codarts Rotterdam in 2016. Hij specialiseert zich in street- & clubstyles en hedendaagse dans. Sinds 2015 is hij actief bij ISH Dance Collective en was hij te zien in producties als Narnia, GRIMM, Dorian, The Waste Land en Rhythm & Flow. In zijn werk zoekt hij steeds naar een eigen bewegingsstijl door verschillende disciplines te combineren. In 2023 maakte hij zijn eerste choreografie voor ISH Open Nights, gevolgd door Burden tijdens het Nationale Opera & Ballet Gala, Masterpieces op de Nederlandse Dansdagen en International Draft Works bij het Royal Opera House in Londen. Daarnaast choreografeerde hij Behind the Horizon ter ere van 80 jaar bevrijding en assisteerde hij Marco Gerris bij o.a. Hiphop Circus, Thor met Het Balletorkest en het concert rondom 750 jaar Amsterdam. Bij Zero Dance Theatre was hij eerder te zien in The Divine Comedy (2019) en Past Present Zero (2022). In 2025 keert hij terug als onderdeel van de cast voor Loud Whispers.

Lars de Vos, one of the original dancers of Zero, is a versatile dancer and choreographer who graduated from Codarts Rotterdam in 2016. He specializes in street and club styles combined with contemporary dance. Sophia Mason, één van de oorspronkelijke dansers van Zero, studeerde in 2016 af aan Fontys Contemporary Urban. Sindsdien heeft zij zich ontwikkeld tot een veelzijdige danseres en choreograaf met een indrukwekkende loopbaan. Haar brede inzetbaarheid blijkt uit haar uiteenlopende samenwerkingen binnen de danswereld. In 2017 werkte ze zes maanden met Keone en Mariel Madrid aan de productie SKY, en trad ze op voor het Koninklijk Huis in een choreografie van Ed Wubbe. In 2018 werkte ze een jaar met Isabelle Beernaert aan Tabula Rasa, gevolgd door To the Edge PT2 van Dalton Jansen. Sophia’s reis met Zero begon in 2019 met de eerste productie van het gezelschap, The Divine Comedy. In 2020-2021 sloot ze zich aan bij DOX voor de productie ROLE MODELS. Naast haar artistieke werk heeft Sophia ook commerciële opdrachten uitgevoerd, waaronder twee optredens tijdens EUROVISIE en deelname aan DANCESING. De afgelopen jaren is haar liefde voor muziek en zang een steeds groter onderdeel geworden van haar artistieke praktijk. Haar diepe verbondenheid met beweging en muziek uit zich in werk waarin narratief, isolatie, vloeiendheid en floorwork op natuurlijke wijze samenkomen. Door haar muzikaliteit te combineren met een sterk gevoel voor storytelling creëert zij krachtige, emotioneel geladen performances waarin zij emoties tastbaar maakt via beweging. Afgelopen jaar was Sophia onderdeel van de cast én het creatieve team van OASIS 2024. Dit jaar keert zij terug als vast castlid voor de tour van Loud Whispers 2025.

Sophia Mason, another one of the original dancers of Zero, graduated from Fontys Contemporary Urban in 2016. Since then, she has evolved into a versatile dancer and choreographer, building an impressive career. Her versatility is reflected in her diverse collaborations across the industry. In 2017, she spent six months working with Keone and Mariel Madrid on the production SKY, and performed for the Royal House in a piece choreographed by Ed Wubbe. The following year, she spent a year working with Isabelle Beernaert on Tabula Rasa, followed by a collaboration with Dalton Jansen on To the Edge PT2 in 2018. Sophia’s journey with Zero began with its inaugural production The Divine Comedy in 2019, and she later joined DOX in 2020-2021 for ROLE MODELS. In addition to these artistic achievements, Sophia has also earned commercial credits, including performing twice for EUROVISIE and participating in DANCESING. In recent years, she has increasingly woven her passion for music and singing into her artistic practice. Sophia's deep passion for movement and music is evident in her work, as she integrates narrative and isolated movements with seamless flow and floorwork. She combines her musicality with her innate storytelling ability to craft powerful, emotionally rich performances, translating emotions into movement to enhance the impact of her choreography. Last year she was part of the OASIS 2024 cast and also contributed to the creative process. This year she will again be part of the official cast of Loud Whispers 2025.

Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Estland (1998), begon zij haar dansopleiding aan de Nationale Balletacademie in Tallinn. Van 2010 tot 2014 trad ze op in diverse producties van de Estse Nationale Opera, waaronder een tournee naar Venetië in 2012. Tegelijkertijd had ze een succesvolle carrière in ritmische gymnastiek (2005–2016), met meerdere internationale titels en drie nationale kampioenschappen. In 2017 verhuisde ze op achttienjarige leeftijd naar Nederland om te studeren aan Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (FHK) in Tilburg, waar ze in 2021 haar bachelor behaalde aan de Contemporary Urban Dance Performance-afdeling. Sindsdien was ze te zien in uiteenlopende theaterproducties in onder andere Nederland, België, Frankrijk, Duitsland, Scandinavië en Australië – waaronder het Sydney Opera House. Ook neemt ze af en toe deel aan dansbattles. Haar dansstijl kenmerkt zich door een fysieke mix van vloerwerk, acrobatiek en flexibiliteit, waarmee ze steeds de grenzen van haar lichaam opzoekt. In 2020 begon haar samenwerking met Zero Dance Theatre tijdens een stage, waarna ze onder begeleiding van Denden Karadeniz verder trainde. Ze was te zien in F(r)iction (2022), op tour met Past Present Zero (2022–2023), en maakte deel uit van de hoofdcast van Oasis (2024). In 2025 keert ze terug bij Zero Dance Theatre als onderdeel van de cast van Loud Whispers.

Originally from Estonia, she embarked on her dance journey at the National Ballet Academy in Tallinn. This early training afforded her the exceptional opportunity to perform with the Estonian National Opera in various ballets from 2010 to 2014, including a distinguished tour to Venice, Italy, in 2012. In addition to her ballet training, she enjoyed a successful career in rhythmic gymnastics from 2005 to 2016, during which she secured multiple international titles and became a three-time Estonian National Champion. Her dance style organically merges floorwork, acrobatics, and flexibility in a highly physical manner, continually challenging the limits of her body’s capabilities. In 2017, at the age of 18, she relocated to the Netherlands to pursue her studies at Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (FHK) in Tilburg. Following her graduation, she performed in numerous theatre productions across Europe. Her journey with Zero began during an internship in 2020, and she has been training under the guidance of Denden since then. She was previously part of the maincast from Past Present Zero(2021/2022) and Oasis(2024). In 2025, she returns to the stage with Zero Dance Theatre as part of the cast for Loud Whispers.

Lola van Rumpt behaalde in 2022 haar Bachelor in Dans aan het Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, met een specialisatie in hedendaagse dans en floorwork. Sindsdien is zij actief als freelance danser en choreograaf en werkt zij nauw samen met Zero Dance Theatre. In haar werk staat improvisatie centraal, gecombineerd met vloeiende bewegingstaal, precieze articulatie, sensorische verkenning en het verleggen van artistieke grenzen. In 2024 creëerde zij haar eigen voorstelling Busting Clouds, die in première ging op het Delft Fringe Festival en te zien was in het Vondelpark Openluchttheater en op Festival Sommerwerft in Frankfurt. In datzelfde jaar toerde zij met Jams & Gems van The Ruggeds, waarin zij samen met Jan een duet danste in opdracht van Zero. Lola richt zich steeds meer op het maken van eigen werk. Zo werkte zi tijdens een residentie bij Theater de Landing samen met muzikant DAVIES aan een nieuw project over afstand en ruimte, vertaald in muziek, dans en tekst. Daarnaast ontwikkelt zij een interdisciplinair concert met pianist Hao Chen en visual artist Gnasherfilm, dat in november 2025 in première zal gaan. Hierin vervult zij de rol van danser, choreograaf en artistiek leider. Eerder maakte zij werk voor Kunstfestival FOAF en Museumnacht 2022, in samenwerking met Studio Meervaart en modeontwerpster Lea Elleman. Als performer was zij te zien in God is a DJ van dansgezelschap SALLY en toerde zij internationaal met IID, met optredens op Blois Danse Festival en Lugar Futuro Festival. Later dit jaar creëert zij een nieuw werk voor Het Nationale Ballet, als onderdeel van een double bill met Zoë Greten voor Studio Boekman. Haar samenwerking met Zero begon in 2021, met Oasis als eerste grote tour. Dit jaar keert Lola terug bij Zero als vast castlid voor de tour van Loud Whispers.

Lola van Rumpt earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dance from the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in 2022, specializing in contemporary dance and floorwork. Her artistic practice is rooted in improvisation, contemporary flow, precise articulation, sensory exploration, and pushing creative boundaries. In 2024, she created Busting Clouds, which premiered at Delft Fringe Festival and has since been performed at the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre and Festival Sommerwerft in Frankfurt. That same year, she toured with The Ruggeds’ production Jams & Gems, performing a duet with Jan in a piece commissioned by Zero. Lola is increasingly focused on creating her own work. In collaboration with musician DAVIES, she recently held a residency at Theater de Landing, developing a new piece on our relationship with distance and space, blending music, dance, and text. She is also preparing an interdisciplinary concert with pianist Hao Chen and visual artist Gnasherfilm, set for November 2025, where she leads as dancer, choreographer, and artistic director. Her previous creations include work for Kunstfestival FOAF and Museum Night 2022, in collaboration with Studio Meervaart and fashion designer Lea Elleman. As a performer, she has appeared in Sally’s God is a DJ, and toured internationally with IID, performing They Never at Blois Danse Festival and at Lugar Futuro Festival, both choreographed by Robin Kroes. Later this year, she will begin creating a new work commissioned by Dutch National Ballet for Studio Boekman, a double bill with Zoë Greten, set to premiere in November 2025. She began her work with Zero in 2021, with Oasis marking her first major tour. This year she will again be part of the official cast of Loud Whispers 2025.

Rolf begon zijn dansopleiding op zevenjarige leeftijd bij het vooropleidingsprogramma Boys Action in Groesbeek. Daarna stroomde hij door naar het selectieprogramma op ArtEZ in Arnhem, waar hij tot zijn twintigste studeerde. In 2023 behaalde hij zijn Bachelor in Danseducatie aan ArtEZ, waar hij een sterke technische basis ontwikkelde in jazz, ballet, de Limón-techniek en floorwork. Naast zijn werk als danser zet Rolf zich in als docent bij Boys Action, waar hij breakdance, floorwork, moderne dans en acrobatiek samenbrengt in zijn lespraktijk en artistiek onderzoek. In 2022 werd hij geselecteerd voor Friction, een project van Denden, waarin hij samenwerkte met een groep geselecteerde dansers. Tijdens zijn afstudeerjaar liep hij stage bij Zero Dance Theatre, waar hij een centrale rol vervulde in Past Present Zero. Als gevolg daarop was hij het jaar daarna ook te zien in Terpsichore Zero. Afgelopen jaar was hij voor het eerst onderdeel van de officiele cast tijdens de tour van OASIS 2024. Dit jaar keert hij terug als vast castlid voor de tour Loud Whispers 2025.

Rolf began his dance training at the age of 7 in the Boys Action pre-education program in Groesbeek. He then progressed to the selection program at ArtEZ in Arnhem, where he continued his studies until the age of 20. In 2023, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Dance Education from ArtEZ, building a solid technical foundation in Jazz, Ballet, Limón technique, and floorwork. Rolf is dedicated to refining his pedagogical skills at Boys Action, where he integrates breakdance, floorwork, modern dance, and acrobatics into his teaching and creative practice. In 2022, he was selected for Denden’s project Friction, collaborating with a select group of dancers. During his final year of study, Rolf completed an internship with Zero Dance Theatre, taking on a pivotal role in Past Present Zero. As a result, he appeared the following year in Terpsichore Zero as well. Last year, he joined the official cast for the first time during the OASIS 2024 tour and this year, he returns with the official cast for the Loud Whispers 2025 tour.

Denden Karadeniz, oprichter en hoofdchoreograaf van Zero Dance Theatre, maakte zijn eerste stappen in de danswereld als breaker en ontwikkelde zich tot een allround performer met een krachtige en veelzijdige bewegingssignatuur. Zijn loopbaan bracht hem van underground battles naar internationale podia en tournees, waar hij opviel door zijn uitzonderlijke vermogen om fysieke intensiteit te verbinden met verfijnde theatrale expressie. Zijn artistieke ontwikkeling weerspiegelt zich in een indrukwekkend palet aan samenwerkingen binnen zowel het theater als de commerciële sector. Denden werkte wereldwijd aan uiteenlopende producties, waarbij hij moeiteloos schakelt tussen dansstijlen en disciplines. Zijn stijl wordt gekenmerkt door explosieve energie, scherpe muzikaliteit en een sterke emotionele gelaagdheid. Sinds de oprichting van Zero Dance Theatre in 2018 danst Denden vaak in zijn eigen choreografieën, waarin hij als maker én performer zijn signatuur tot in detail doorvoert. Tijdens Loud Whispers 2025 staat Denden voor de laatste keer op het podium in een van zijn eigen producties met het gezelschap—een symbolisch moment binnen zijn reis als danser, choreograaf en artistiek leider.

His career took him from the underground battle scene to major international stages and tours, where he became known for his distinctive ability to fuse raw physicality with refined theatrical expression. Over the years, his artistic path has unfolded through an impressive range of collaborations across both the theatre and commercial sectors. Denden has worked on diverse productions worldwide, effortlessly navigating between genres and styles. His work is marked by explosive energy, sharp musicality, and a deeply rooted emotional presence. Since founding Zero Dance Theatre in 2018, Denden has consistently performed in his own choreographies, where his creative vision as both dancer and choreographer is carried through with precision and intention. Loud Whispers 2025 marks a significant milestone, as Denden takes the stage one final time in one of his own productions with the company—a symbolic moment in his journey as performer, choreographer, and artistic leader.

Emine Bostancı, geboren in Istanbul, is kemenche-speelster, componist en researcher. Ze is de enige professionele bespeler van de Istanbul kemenche in Europa en geeft met dit zeldzame instrument, dat bekendstaat om zijn kwetsbare en bijna menselijke toon, een eigen en eigentijdse stem. Na een studie met de hoogste onderscheiding in Turkije vervolgde ze haar opleiding in Nederland, waar ze haar Master cum laude afrondde en momenteel promoveert in Amsterdam. Ze trad op in zalen als het Concertgebouw, Pierre Boulez Saal en het Bimhuis en werkte samen met musici als Kudsi Erguner, Tony Overwater en Maya Fridman. Ze onderzoekt de verbinding tussen traditie en vernieuwing.

De in München geboren pianist en componist Franz von Chossy heeft een eigen stijl die is gevormd door zowel klassieke scholing als jazzimprovisatie. Na zijn studie in Amsterdam en New York won hij de Dutch Jazz Competition en werd hij uitgeroepen tot Beste Solist vanwege zijn lyrische en expressieve spel. Later behaalde hij de tweede prijs bij de Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition. Franz bracht vier albums uit onder eigen naam en trad op in meer dan vijftig landen. Naast zijn eigen projecten is hij lid van het prijswinnende ensemble Arifa, dat bekendstaat om het combineren van jazz met traditionele muziek uit de hele wereld. Zijn werk wordt gekenmerkt door sterke verhalende lijnen, emotionele diepgang en een klank die soepel beweegt tussen genres.

Emine Bostancı, born in Istanbul, is a kemenche player, composer, and researcher. She is the only professional Istanbul kemenche player in Europe, bringing the fragile and human-like sound of this rare instrument into new contexts. After graduating with top honors in Turkey, she completed her Master’s in the Netherlands with distinction and is currently pursuing a PhD in Amsterdam. Emine has performed at venues such as the Concertgebouw, Pierre Boulez Saal, and Bimhuis, and has collaborated with musicians including Kudsi Erguner, Tony Overwater, and Maya Fridman. She explores the meeting point between tradition and innovation, giving her instrument a unique and contemporary voice.

Franz von Chossy, born in Munich, is a pianist and composer with a unique voice shaped by both classical training and jazz improvisation. After studying in Amsterdam and New York, he won the Dutch Jazz Competition and was awarded Best Soloist for his lyrical and expressive style. He later received second prize at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition. Franz has released four albums under his own name and performed in more than fifty countries worldwide. Alongside his own ensembles, he is also part of the award-winning group Arifa, known for blending jazz with traditional music from around the globe. His work is marked by strong storytelling, emotional depth, and a sound that moves effortlessly between genres.
